Honda Accord Coupe, 2013

  •  Honda Accord Coupe, 2013

The Honda Accord Sedan and Honda Accord Coupe mark the beginning of the ninth generation of Honda's best-selling midsize car. More luxurious, more sophisticated, better performing and better equipped than any other model in the Accord's 37-year history, the 2013 models remarkably advance the sense of luxury and craftsmanship, vehicle dynamics and the range of standard equipment to the highest levels in their class. Built in two locations in Ohio, launch of the all-new models celebrates 30 continuous years of Accord production in the United States.

The exterior length and wheelbase of both the Accord Sedan and Coupe are slightly more compact than the prior generation Accord while still providing improvements in key interior dimensions including rear legroom and trunk volume. The result is a spacious all-new Accord that boasts a sportier appearance, more responsive handling and improved driving dynamics.

From the tip of the front bumpers to the end of the exhaust finishers, literally nothing was left unexamined when redesigning the Honda Accord. This includes major elements like the unit-body, sheet metal, glass and aerodynamics, along with interior features and electronic systems, the engines and transmissions, the chassis components, and the many safety systems. Despite the complete generational changes, however, the 2013 Accord Sedan and Coupe are still tightly focused on providing the same long-established blend of unbeatable Honda safety and security, value for money, fun-to-drive performance and handling, and passenger comfort and convenience.

Fuel efficiency is also improved, with EPA estimated highway mileage ratings up to 36 mpg for the 4-cylinder Accord and 34 mpg for the V-6 Accord Sedan. Not only does Accord advance the state of the art in its segment, but the new Honda Accord models also introduce a host of new technologies to Honda - while serving as the first vehicle to use Honda's new Earth Dreams™ technology, which is dedicated to enhancing fuel efficiency and minimizing the company's environmental footprint. In early 2013, an all-new 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) Sedan will launch, followed by a conventional hybrid based on the same powertrain architecture in the summer of 2013, bringing Honda levels of fun and efficiency to the hybrid segment.

In addition to the upcoming hybrid versions of the Accord, the all-new 2013 Accord Sedan 4-door is available in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, EX-L V6 and new Touring trim levels, while the 2-door Accord Coupe comes in LX-S, EX, EX-L and EX-L V6 trim levels. Standard features on the new Accord include Bluetooth Hands Free Link with audio streaming, USB/iPod integration, rearview camera and an audio/information screen and an Eco Assist™ driving system. As in previous EX-trim Accords, a choice of fabric or leather seating upholstery is available.

Other standard Accord features include dual-zone climate control, Pandora internet radio integration and an SMS text messaging function. Available features include a hard disc drive (HDD)-based Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition and FM Traffic, and Adaptive Cruise Control. New visibility technologies include an expanded-view driver's mirror and Honda's new Lane Watch feature - along with available features such as LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRLs) and brake lights.

Safety advancements include a thoroughly revised Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and available Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems.

Two Earth Dreams powertrains are available initially, including an all-new 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with Honda's first use of direct injection in North America, and a 3.5-liter V-6 with revised VTEC + VCM functions. In early 2013, the Accord lineup will see the first application of a new Earth Dreams  2.0-liter 4-cylinder/two-motor plug-in hybrid system in the Honda Accord PHEV Sedan. The Honda two-motor hybrid system will operate continuously through three modes - all-electric, gasoline-electric and direct-drive - to maximize fuel efficiency. The 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid will also serve as the basis for a conventional hybrid version of the Accord Sedan, which will join the Accord lineup in the summer of 2013. Accord 4-cylinder models will offer a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that helps the Accord achieve outstanding fuel-efficiency, along with a new fun-to-shift 6-speed manual transmission on selected models. The Accord's V-6 engine offers a choice of a new 6-speed automatic or in the V-6 Coupe, a 6-speed manual. The Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid will feature a new electric coupled CVT.

Body
Crisply styled and aerodynamically efficient, the all-new 2013 Accord Sedan and Accord Coupe body design and engineering are the most sophisticated in the Accord nameplate's 37-year history. The advances are tailor-made to improve every aspect of the Accord ownership experience, from more precise ride and handling to a quieter interior environment, along with enhanced visibility and greater fuel efficiency.

The 2013 Accord's unit-body uses more high-strength steel than any Accord in the model's history. This gives the Accord high structural strength for improved ride quality and more precise cornering. The Sedan's body design is bold and decisive, sleek and fluid, while the Coupe body design is rakish, taut and athletic. In both body styles, extensive use of aerodynamic detailing, including expanded use of under-covers, improves the Honda Accord's aerodynamic efficiency, which directly benefits fuel efficiency. Other advances include available LED headlights, LED DRLs, mirror-mounted turn signals, and an Expanded View Driver's Mirror that increases the driver's field of vision by 4.2 degrees.

Exterior Design
Even the Sedan's body-sides are expressive, with a character line flowing upward and rearward across the door surfaces, and a deep contour strategically positioned at the lower doors, offering substance and a sense of motion. Bright window surround trim adds a luxury feel, while in back, the tops of the rear fenders curve inward toward the C-pillars like flexed muscles. The EX-L and Touring models offer chrome door handles and additional trim on the rear panel for added elegance.

The Accord Coupe is the most exhilarating 2-door Honda Accord yet. Its front end is set apart with a large lower radiator opening and twin faux brake scoops, which double as fog-light nacelles on all models except the LX. The large front wheel arches segue to deep character lines sweeping across the doors and back to the muscular rear wheel arches, while the flowing roofline draws the eye up and over the windswept cabin.

Careful sculpting on the lower door sides continues the kinetic look of the Accord Coupe, while helping to direct airflow around the rear tires. The roofline, bodyside character lines and rear wheel arches all converge at the deck-lid, drawing the eye to the rear spoiler on the V-6 models and providing an emphatic final impression as the Coupe drives away.

All Accord LX and Sport Sedan models feature a convenient manual remote entry system, while Accord EX, EX-L and Touring models include a new Smart Entry system with engine start/stop button. The Accord EX, EX-L and Touring models also include a power glass moonroof with tilt feature.

All Accord models have variable-speed windshield wipers and auto-on/off headlights, and a rearview camera is standard on all Accord models. Aerodynamic advancements improve fuel efficiency while also reducing interior noise. These features include body A-pillars that are now nearly flush with the windshield glass, windshield wipers that are flush with the rear edge of the hood edge, and optimized windshield and side glass thickness.

The 2013 Accord Sedan is available in nine exterior colors, including four metallic and five pearl colors. All-new colors include Champagne Frost Pearl, Hematite Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic and Obsidian Blue Pearl. The 2013 Accord Coupe is available in seven exterior colors, including two metallic, five pearl and one solid color. All-new colors include Modern Steel Metallic, Still Night Pearl, Tiger Eye Pearl and White Orchid Pearl.

Aerodynamic Performance
Engineers considered every facet of the Accord Sedan and Coupe exterior in pursuit of low aerodynamic drag for a quiet ride and maximized fuel efficiency. The effort begins with an overall "teardrop" exterior cabin shape, which results in the most effective combination of low aero drag and useable interior space. To this basic concept engineers added numerous aerodynamic details including near-flush windshield glass, carefully tailored A-pillar shapes, flush-mounted windshield wipers, and careful under-body tailoring that reduces aerodynamic drag, directly improving fuel efficiency.

Accord Sedan and Coupe models have under-body aerodynamic covers in front of the engine/transmission assembly and rear wheels and trunk. Accord V-6 models also have two more covers under the driver's and front passenger's floor areas. In addition, ground clearance is purposefully lowest just in front of the rear wheels, causing a low-pressure area in between the wheels. This low-pressure area pulls the airflow around the rear wheels instead of across them. Although seemingly small, the details add up, and result in meaningful gains in fuel-efficiency.

High-Strength Steel
The 2013 Honda Accord unit-body uses 55.8-percent high-tensile steel, more than in any previous Accord. In addition, 17.2-percent of the steel is now grade 780, 980 and 1,500 - extremely high grades that have never before been used in any Accord. This contributes to higher body rigidity and reduced weight, which directly benefits ride and handling, interior quietness, performance and efficiency and long-term durability.

The measured improvements in rigidity are significant. In static tests, bending rigidity is up 34 percent and torsional rigidity is up 42-percent compared to the previous-generation Accord. In dynamic tests, front lateral rigidity is up 16 percent and rear vertical rigidity is up 39-percent.

Body-Colored Folding Power Side Mirrors
Standard on all Accord models, body-colored power side mirrors allow the driver to adjust the mirrors position with ease. They can also be manually folded inward for tight parking spaces, if desired. Side mirrors on EX and above models are heated for all-weather driving convenience, and the passenger-side mirror includes an integrated Honda LaneWatch™ camera. The mirrors were specifically designed to be more aerodynamic, reducing wind noise. Every Accord EX, EX-L and Touring model has LED turn-signal indicators integrated into the side mirror housings for added visibility in traffic.

Expanded View Driver's Mirror
Introduced to the Honda line in the 2012 CR-V, the 2013 Accord's Expanded View Driver's Mirror is integrated into the driver's side mirror. Standard equipment on all 2013 Accord models and trim levels, the mirror increases the driver's field of vision by 4.2 degrees to provide a better view of objects to the back and side of the vehicle.

Honda LaneWatch™ Blind Spot Display
The new Honda LaneWatch™ blind spot display, included on Accord EX, EX-L and Touring Sedan models and EX-L Coupe, uses a camera located below the passenger-side mirror to display an expanded rear view of the passenger side roadway on the intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID).

One-Touch Open/Close Power Moonroof
Included on Accord EX, EX-L and Touring models, a power glass moonroof with tilt feature includes one-touch control for both open and close functions. An auto-reverse feature reverses direction of the sliding moonroof panel if the operating system detects resistance to closing. A manually operated sliding sunshade improves comfort on bright or hot days.

Integrated Rear-Window Antenna
All new Accords feature an AM/FM radio antenna integrated into the rear window. This eliminates the need for a traditional mast antenna, improving the vehicle's exterior appearance and eliminating the possibility of damage in automatic car washes. Models equipped with XM Radio have a small fin-type antenna mounted at the rear of the roof.

Power Door Locks With Remote Entry and Programmable Auto-Locking Doors

All Honda Accord LX and Sport Sedan models feature a convenient manual remote entry system, while Accord EX, EX-L and Touring models include a new Smart Entry system.

Remote Entry System
The manual remote entry system allows the driver to lock or unlock the doors and trunk with the press of a button on the integrated wave key. This system has a range of up to 50 feet and includes an emergency "panic" button that sounds the horn when pressed. In addition, the manual remote entry system features a security system that is automatically activated when the lock button on the remote is pushed. A beep of the horn confirms that the security system is set. Any unauthorized entry will then sound an alarm.

Smart Entry System
The new Smart Entry system with engine start/stop button on Accord EX, EX-L and Touring models simplifies approaching, entering and starting the Accord - especially when the driver is carrying personal items. The Smart Entry system allows the driver to walk up to the vehicle, touch the door handle to unlock the door, start the engine and shut it off at the end of the trip using a push button ignition switch, and then get out and touch the lock button on the door handle to secure the car - all without ever touching a key. The system only requires that the driver has possession of the Smart Entry key. The Smart Entry key features a die-cast body with attractive chrome plating and acrylic covers that use "back side printing" for durability.

Auto-Locking/Unlocking System
All 2013 Accord models also include a programmable auto-locking/unlocking system that is preset to automatically lock the doors when the vehicle reaches approximately 10 mph. Drivers can program the system to lock and unlock doors in several different ways, or else deactivate some or all of the system if desired.

Variable-Speed Windshield Wipers
All Accord models have variable-speed windshield wipers that automatically adjust the rate of operation according to vehicle speed. The result is the most efficient clearing of moisture from the windshield, and minimal wind noise at highway speeds. The design of the wipers also helps the blades press firmly against the windshield even at higher speeds, further assisting the clearing process. For 2013, the windshield wipers are positioned at the same level as the Accord's rear hood edge when not in use, reducing aerodynamic drag and wind noise.

Auto On/Off Headlights
All 2013 Accord models feature auto-on/off headlights for greater convenience. The headlights are multi-reflector/projector-beam units on all Sedan and Coupe models except the V-6 Touring Sedan, which has auto-on/off LED headlights. The headlights are sculpted for maximum aerodynamic efficiency and to compliment the Accord's styling. All Accord models likewise feature Daytime Running Lights (DRL) - halogen on 4-cylinder models and bright, dramatic LED DRLs on the V-6 models.

LED Headlights
The 2013 Honda Accord Touring Sedan exclusively features Honda's first use of Light Emitting Diode (LED) headlights. This dual-lamp LED projector array provides improved light distribution for improved visibility and enhanced nighttime driving performance, while requiring only one-half the electrical power of conventional halogen/projector headlights. The LED array also has a highly technical appearance that sets the Touring Sedan model apart.

LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Every Accord is equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), making it easier for pedestrians and other drivers to see the Accord in both daylight and twilight conditions. For 2013, new Light Emitting Diode (LED) DRLs are on all V-6 powered Accord Sedan and Coupe models.

LED Brake Lights
Light Emitting Diode (LED) brake lights are standard on all Accord Sedan EX-L and Touring models. Compared to traditional incandescent bulbs, LEDs illuminate more quickly, use less power and have a longer service life. They also provide a high-tech look to the rear of the EX-L and Touring models.

Exterior Colors
The 2013 Accord Sedan is available in eight exterior colors, including three metallic and five pearl colors. All-new colors include Champagne Frost Pearl, Hematite Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic and Obsidian Blue Pearl. Also available are Alabaster Silver Metallic, Basque Red Pearl II, Crystal Black Pearl and White Orchid Pearl.

The 2013 Accord Coupe is available in seven exterior colors, including two metallic, four pearl and one solid color. All-new colors include Modern Steel Metallic, Still Night Pearl, Tiger Eye Pearl and White Orchid Pearl. Also available are Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and San Marino Red.

Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Reduction
Generation after generation, the Accord's ability to filter out noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) from the ride experience has become measurably better. For 2013 the reduction efforts are even more impressive, beginning with structural improvements in the unit-body and the greatest use of high-tensile steel in Accord history. The exceptional rigidity of the unit body reduces bending and twisting, which directly improves NVH characteristics.

Aerodynamic tailoring of the body and undercarriage also contribute to reduced cabin noise levels as turbulence is reduced in the surrounding airflow. The strategic use of specific engine, body, door and interior insulation materials also contributes to an even quieter cabin in both Sedan and Coupe models. This directly increases passenger comfort and helps put the Accord near the top of its class for quietness. NVH countermeasures continue, even in areas that cannot be seen. These include under the hood, inside the doors and body openings, and in the technical properties of the interior carpeting and trim. Key Accord NVH countermeasures:
Body A-pillars are now nearly flush with the windshield glass for reduced wind noise
Windshield wipers are positioned flush with the rear edge of the hood, smoothing airflow for reduced noise
Windshield and side glass thickness is optimized for reduced wind noise
Hood insulator reduces audible engine and road noise
Fender liner insulators reduce road and tire noise
Sealing rubber at bottom of doors reduces road noise
Foam at leading edge of front door openings reduces road and tire noise
Trunk trim with insulator reduces road noise

Cargo Area
The Honda Accord Sedan has a trunk capacity of 15.8 cubic feet - 1.1 cubic feet larger than the previous-generation Accord Sedan's, and is spacious enough to easily accommodate four large golf bags. Meanwhile the Coupe trunk has a capacity of 13.7 cubic feet, 1.8 cubic feet larger than previously. In both models, the new trunk area is easier to access and use, and the trunk floor is flatter, allowing easy placement and removal of items, with more secure storage. Integrated storage hooks allow securing cargo for safe transit. All Accord models one-piece rear seatback can be lowered to expand the cargo area when needed by pulling a convenient handle located in the trunk. The trunk is carpeted and lined, and a temporary spare tire is located in a well under a removable section of the cargo-area floor.

Rearview Camera
A rearview camera is now standard on all Accord models. Accord LX, Sport and EX models feature a single-angle "Normal View" display, while EX-L and Touring models have a multi-angle rearview camera with three viewing angles - wide view, normal view and top-down view. Drivers may select the preferred view according to driving conditions. All rearview camera systems feature guidelines.

Ford Flex, 2013

  •  Ford Flex, 2013

Fans of the Ford Flex have even more to love with an upgraded model with a sleek new look and even more technology to make driving safer, easier and more fuel-efficient.

"The Flex appeals to people who want to stand out from the crowd and has the highest retention rate of any vehicle in the Ford lineup," said Mark Fields, president of The Americas. "With technologies not found in other full-size utilities, even better fuel economy and a more modern, sophisticated look, we're offering people even more reasons to choose Flex with the new model."

The seven-passenger, three-row crossover - which debuts at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show - comes equipped with the new generation of MyFord Touch, rear inflatable belts, collision-avoidance technologies, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, first-row heated and cooled seats, power-fold mirrors and an optional new Appearance Package. Plus, the base 3.5-liter engine is projected to deliver 1 mpg better fuel economy on the highway and in the city, with 20 more horsepower.

Enhanced technology
The new Flex features SYNC® with the new generation of MyFord Touch®, making it easier to manage information, control features and adjust settings.

MyFord Touch includes two 4.2-inch screens in the instrument cluster and an eight-inch screen in the center stack. The feature pairs with the latest version of SYNC.

The base SYNC package:
  • Hands-free, voice-activated calling via a Bluetooth®-connected mobile phone or USB-connected digital music player
  • 911 Assist™, the automated emergency calling service that is free for the life of the vehicle
  • Vehicle Health Report, the on-demand diagnostic and maintenance information service

Enhanced safety and driver-aid technology

The new Ford Flex is equipped with the automotive world's first production rear inflatable belts to offer improved comfort and protection for rear seat passengers. Last month, this safety innovation was named a Breakthrough Product Award winner by Popular Mechanics, part of the magazine's seventh annual Breakthrough Awards.

The advanced restraint system is designed to help reduce head, neck and chest injuries for rear seat passengers, often children and older passengers who can be more vulnerable to such injuries.

Advances in airbag inflation and safety belt construction methods have enabled Ford and its suppliers to develop inflatable seat belts that are designed to deploy over a vehicle occupant's torso and shoulder in 40 milliseconds in the event of a crash.

The new second-row belts operate like traditional safety belts in everyday use and inflate when sensors indicate a collision event. Each belt's tubular airbag inflates with cold compressed gas, which flows through a specially designed buckle from a cylinder housed below the seat.

The new Ford Flex also boasts available radar-enabled adaptive cruise control (ACC) and collision warning with brake support and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert. These technologies help drivers avoid potential accidents using radar to detect the relative position of other vehicles and warn the driver with a combination of visual and audio alerts.

The ACC technology uses advanced radar to scan for vehicles in front of Flex at 20 times per second. The sensor can detect vehicles up to 150 yards away and detect speed changes as small as ¼ mph. When the system is activated, it functions like normal cruise control with the exception of being able to slow down the car when vehicles in front are detected to be slowing down. When traffic has cleared, the vehicle resumes the set speed. Four distance settings accommodate a range of driving styles and road conditions. The driver can set distance, speed and the time gap between vehicles.

Fuel economy bolstered by engines, technologies
Under the hood, Ford Flex's new base engine delivers even more efficiency and performance with the addition of twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) to the 3.5-liter V6.

The upgraded 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine provides 285 horsepower - an approximate 20 horsepower increase from the previous engine - and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. The new Flex also is projected to deliver 1 mpg more fuel economy, with projected fuel economy of 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

This efficient V6 allows precise, variable control of valve overlap, or the window of time in which both the intake and exhaust valves in an engine are open at the same time. By adjusting overlap continuously, the engine can operate at optimum settings for peak fuel economy or peak power output as conditions demand.

The popular 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 remains on the new Ford Flex, bringing the fuel economy of V6 engines with all-wheel-drive capability and V8-like performance of 355 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque.

A key contributor to EcoBoost fuel efficiency is direct injection of gasoline. This system precisely delivers a fine mist of fuel directly into each cylinder for optimal performance, economy and emissions.

Eco Boost engines are fundamental to the Ford strategy of providing technologically advanced, high-output, smaller-displacement powertrains that deliver exceptional fuel economy and uncompromised performance for millions of drivers around the world. By 2013, more than 90 percent of Ford's North American lineup will be available with Eco Boost technology. Ford holds more than 125 patents on its EcoBoost engine technology.

Both engines are mated to a six-speed Select Shift Automatic® transmission.

The Select Shift advanced gearbox offers the driver a choice between fully automatic operation and manual control. With Select Shift with Eco Boost, paddle shifters are integrated into the steering wheel spokes. Intuitive to operate, a squeeze back on either paddle will deliver an upshift, while a gentle push forward on either paddle will induce a matched-rev downshift. Select Shift won't second-guess the driver with an override shift; manual control is truly manually controlled. The thumb shift is new for 2013 with the standard engine models.

Both engines also are made more efficient with EPAS (electric power-assisted steering). EPAS improves fuel economy approximately 4 percent and reduces emissions while improving steering performance primarily because the steering system is powered by an electric motor connected to the vehicle's battery, instead of engine-mounted hydraulic pump steering systems.

In addition, the new Ford Flex's battery management system operates the vehicle's power supply system in a more economical manner to save fuel. The system:
  • Allows the alternator and system voltage to be controlled based on battery condition, vehicle operating state and electrical load status
  • Provides feedback to the vehicle regarding battery condition for active load management and battery diagnostics
  • Monitors battery temperature (higher voltage in lower temperatures, lower voltage in higher temperatures), extending the battery life
Fresh new look, touches - inside and out
Ford Flex's new front end rounds out the previously boxy edges, creating more visual harmony between the front and the rest of the vehicle. The signature Ford blue oval has been removed from the front, which now solely bears the Flex badge.

In the rear, Flex now has standard dual exhaust and available rear appliqué.
Inside the Ford Flex customers will find a modern, sophisticated driver zone with new clusters, steering wheel and electronic finish panels, as well as new seat trim and foam.

Class-exclusives include the available second-row refrigerated console and the latest generation of MyFord Touch with SYNC.

Appearance Package and paint, wheel choices
Also new is an Appearance Package on Limited and SEL models that includes an available two-tone roof and mirrors, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets, leather seats, unique door trim panels and other interior upgrades for a truly distinctive, premium look and feel.

The new Flex comes in nine exterior colors, including three new colors for the 2013 model year: Ruby Red, Deep Impact Blue and Kodiak Brown. Customers also can choose from body-color roofs, or two-tone with white, gray or black available on the Appearance Package.

Six wheel styles are available for Ford Flex as well.

Ford Fiesta ST, 2013

  • Ford Fiesta ST, 2013

Ford Motor Company is unveiling the new production-ready Ford Fiesta ST at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in advance of the performance hatchback's launch in Europe in 2013.

The Customers have clamoured for a new Fiesta ST since the last model disappeared from European showrooms in 2008. The all-new model will take Ford Fiesta ST performance to a new level. The numbers tell the story: 180PS 1.6-litre EcoBoost, 240Nm of torque, 0-100km/h in under seven seconds, and top speed of more than 220km/h. At the same time, the EcoBoost technology delivers a 20 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions compared with the previous Fiesta ST.

Developed by Ford's Team RS, the new Fiesta ST delivers significant ride-and-handling improvements through the introduction of a specially tuned chassis that sits 15mm lower than the standard Fiesta; Ford's enhanced Torque Vectoring Control system; and three Electronic Stability Control modes. The technologies were put to the test over 5000 kilometers of driving on Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The high-contrast interior features unprecedented levels of equipment and specification to suit the sporting driver, with standard Recaro sports seats appearing in a Ford Fiesta ST for the first time. It also will be equipped with MyKey, which allows owners to limit performance and ensure activation of safety features for when less-experienced drivers use the vehicle; and SYNC, Ford's voice-activated in-car connectivity system. A new bold and dynamic exterior design drives home the high performance message and features the latest Ford design signatures including a large trapezoidal grille.

The new Ford Fiesta ST was engineered using Ford's global Performance Car DNA and developed by Ford Team RS, the European arm of the company's Global Performance Vehicles group.

The experience of the engineering team in working with Ford's motorsport partners to develop the Fiesta RS WRC, Fiesta Rallycross and Racing Fiesta vehicles, also proved invaluable for developing the new Fiesta ST.

With production of the new Ford Fiesta ST confirmed for Europe, Ford also remains open to the idea of introducing the high-performance small car to other regions, including North America for the first time following a highly positive response to the five-door Fiesta ST concept that made its North American debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.

"We're delighted to be bringing a new generation Fiesta ST to our European enthusiasts in 2013 and we'll have more to say about our plans for other markets in the near future," said Capito. "With the Fiesta ST joining the new Focus ST, we will be able to deliver a choice of affordable small performance cars that are designed to deliver a unique blend of stand-out styling and dynamic on-road performance with true practicality for everyday use."

FM Auto Mazzanti Evantra V8, 2013

  •  FM Auto Mazzanti Evantra V8, 2013

The carbon fiber composite body of the Evantra V8 is characterized by the new rear wing and the series of inserts realized in carbon fiber, or brushed aluminium.

Inside a new chrome-molibden rollcage is positioned under the roof while another one connects the new engine to the rear suspension hard-points, this way enchancing the structural stiffness of the chassis and in the same time helps protecting the occupants.

The Evantra's "mechanical heart" is an aluminium V8, naturally aspirated 7.0 L. which is capable of developing 701 hp @ 6600 rpm and 848 Nm @ 4500 rpm. The engine has a compression ratio of 11.0, a dry sump lubrification system, and valves, connecting rods in titanium.

The performance of the Evantra V8 equipped with a 6-speed sequential gearbox arrives up to the maximum velocity of over 350 Km/h with an acceleration of 0-100 in 3.2 seconds.

The aerodynamic development process was realized in partnership with YSIM, a company with notable experience in F1 and Le mans.

SILA Holding Industriale, leader company of gearshift systems, has developed a special version of its robotized gearshift system "silatronic" for Mazzanti.

The power of the Evantra V8 is transferred onto the tarmac thanks to special high performance tyres from CONTINENTAL 255/30 R20 front and 305/25 R20 rear, mounted on special 20" OZ alloy wheels. The braking system comes from BREMBO, formed by 380mm discs with 6 piston calipers in the front and 360mm discs with 4 piston caliper is the back (carbon-ceramic system is optional).

The tailor-made interior of the client is covered with all-natural leather prepared with special aniline leather treatment. The incredible soft touch of the leather is achieved thanks to a collaboration with a leader of the fashion/luxury sector. Every aspect of personalization is possible with the infinite options of special material, including exotic leather and precious materials.

The center console is equipped with a dash and data acquisition system from AIM and a Headunit (NAVI/CD/MP3) from BOSCH as first equipment. The engine starter button is placed onto the roof panel in "Mazzanti" style as in the "sister car" ANTAS. On the lower part of the console the modality selector is placed with different maps for the engine/gearbox, "Strada - Street" and "Corsa - Race". On the NARDI steering wheel a small display shows the actual gear, while behind the paddles are placed.

"I am really proud to present the Evantra V8 .With her an enormous work is finished, that mainly focused on conciliating elements difficult to harmonize to each other: a personal concept that is absolutely out of todays market trends, a really precise and tipically italian stylistical identity and a powertrain with " absolute" performance are perfectly united in forms and function. Evantra V8 was not born to please everyone, instead to be herself and to generate emotions with her character and exclusivity" - Luca Mazzanti

Dacia Logan, 2013

  • Dacia Logan, 2013

The new styling identity of the Dacia brand, the exterior design of New Logan is more dynamic, with a more flowing form at the front. The new styling approach is most apparent in the grille and headlights, featuring a more emphatic design common to all three of the new models. The rear further emphasises Logan's robust nature with new lights and a design that showcases the spaciousness of the vehicle. The styling upgrade gives New Logan a harmonious look and an extra dose of elegance.

Spaciousness for money as impressive as ever
New Logan remains a true family car providing top-notch comfort and practicality for five adults. And it still boasts impressive spaciousness for money. The least expensive car in Europe brings occupants knee room of 178 mm and a boot offering space of 510 dm3 VDA with the seats up - an unrivalled performance in the segment. The new model gains a 60/40 split-folding rear bench, depending on the trim level.

With New Logan, New Sandero and New Sandero Stepway, Dacia styling becomes more assertive and upmarket

The Dacia's new design identity emphasises quality and strength. The three restyled models share the same harmonious front end, radiating outwards from the Dacia logo in the grille. The design of the large headlights and grille gives the cars a more expressive face.

In profile, the proportion of body to glazed surfaces underlines the impression of robustness, helped by a sculpted waist line, more emphatic wheelarches and flanks found on each new model.

More appeal inside
The three new models feature a new dark-carbon or two-tone dashboard (according to model and version) home to comprehensive and contemporary-style instrumentation, with chrome-surrounded dials and latest-generation, eminently functional controls.

The air-vent surrounds, steering-wheel logo and gear-stick handle label are chrome-finished (according to trim level). The central fascia is highlighted by a color wheel trim embellisher (according to trim) that matches the door handles and the design strip on the steering wheel.

Aesthetic quality has been enhanced through the clever choice of materials and flusher fit.

Gasoline: TCe 90
For the first time, New Dacia Logan and New Dacia Sandero are available with the TCe 90, a new symbol of the Renault group's powertrain excellence. This exceptional engine combines driving pleasure and comfort with controlled fuel consumption (54.3 mpg) and CO2 emissions (120 g/km) for reduced running costs.

Featuring the latest technology and downsizing techniques, the TCe 90 is a three-cylinder, 898cc turbocharged gasoline engine. With its ultra-low-inertia turbocharger plus variable valve timing, it delivers 66 kW (90 hp) at 5,250 rpm and generates 135 Nm from low engine speeds (90% from 1,650 rpm), making it a lively and responsive performer with smooth acceleration. It brings drivers a best-in-class balance between driving performance and fuel consumption.

Gasoline: 1.2 16v 75 (Euro 5)
This 1,149cc engine, developing 55 kW (75 hp), is an impressive all-rounder, equally at ease in the city or out on the open road. Fuel consumption is an impressive 47.8 mpg, for CO2 emissions of 137 g/km on New Dacia Logan and New Dacia Sandero. The 1.2 16V 75 engine is also available in an LPG version for lower running costs and just 125g/km of CO2 (in course of homologation, unavailable in UK).

Diesel: dCi 75 and 90 (Euro 5)
Renowned for its driving pleasure, performance reliability, and environmental respect, the 1.5 dCi is available in 55 kW (75 hp) and 66 kW (90 hp) versions. With a torque increase of 20 Nm - 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm for the 75 hp unit and 220 Nm at 1,750 rpm for the 90 hp unit -the 1.5 dCi engine is responsive from even the lowest engine speeds. This performance comes hand in hand with some of the lowest fuel consumption figures in the segment, at 74.3 mpg, for CO2 emissions of 99 g/km for New Logan and Sandero, over a combined cycle representing a decrease of 5 g. Both engines naturally carry the Dacia eco2 signature.

New Dacia Sandero Stepway: TCe 90 and dCi 90
Equipped with the TCe 90, the latest example of the Group's mechanical expertise, New Sandero Stepway consumes 52.3 mpg for CO2 emissions of 125 g/km.

The dCi 90 version bears the Dacia eco² signature in recognition of its low consumption (68.9 mpg) and emission (105 g/km) levels over a combined cycle.

DaciaPlug&Radio
New Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway are available with the Dacia Plug&Radio multimedia solution. Plug&Radio consists of a wide screen and an MP3-compatible CD player, plus Bluetooth® technology, fascia jack and USB sockets, and steering wheel-mounted controls. With Bluetooth® technology drivers can make hands-free calls, with synchronised contacts book and call history, and listen to their favourite tunes by audio streaming through the car's speakers.

MEDIA NAV multimedia system
After debuting on Dacia Lodgy and Dokker, MEDIA NAV is available on all three new models. The simple and user-friendly system, fitted seamlessly in the central fascia, comprises in-car navigation, a radio, Bluetooth® hands-free connectivity and audio streaming, all controlled via a 7-inch (18-cm) touch screen. Navigating the system is easy, via the Menu page. Occupants can also hook up their nomad devices via the USB and jack sockets, mounted on the central fascia for enhanced access and ergonomics, and play them using the touch controls on the screen or the buttons on the steering wheel.

The intuitive touch screen features 2D and "Birdview" (3D) graphics. Customers can update and add mapping content using the USB socket and Naviextra website.

Speed limiter/cruise control and rear parking sensors
A cruise control system - new to the Dacia range - will be available (depending on the version) on New Logan and Sandero, alongside the speed limiter. Rear parking sensors are now available depending on trim level.

Passive safety
For maximum passenger protection, New Dacia Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway benefit from all the safety expertise of Renault's engineers. Seatbelts are equipped with calibrated load limiters for thorax protection in the event of impact. The three models also feature Isofix anchorage points in the two rear lateral seats for easy and 100% safe installation of child seats. Every trim level is fitted as standard with front and side driver and passenger airbags and ESC.

Wide range of accessories
For extra personalisation, Dacia proposes a broad range of accessories for everyday use including side mouldings, floor mats, headrest hangers and boot nets. Weekend getaways and holidays have never been easier thanks to a roof box, ski rack, towing hook, bike rack and portable coolbox. Customers can also customise their Dacia using decal strips, exclusive wheel rims and fog light surrounds.

Roominess and load capacity from the segment above
The interior and exterior dimensions of the three new models are as generous as ever, worthy of the segment above. Rear elbow room in New Sandero is 1436 mm, giving enough room to seat three adults comfortably or install three child seats.

Boot volume, as high as 510 dm3 VDA for New Logan (320 dm3 VDA for Sandero), remains unbeatable given the price and the compact exterior dimensions of the vehicle. Practicality and versatility also remain strong points, thanks to the 60/40 split-folding rear bench.

The cabin has been enhanced to bring occupants more storage possibilities, notably with the addition of a central cubby box. The storage spaces in the front and rear doors are large enough to house a 1.5-litre and 0.5-litre bottle respectively.

Driving comfort and efficiency
As all the models in the Dacia range, New Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway have excellent ground clearance enabling them to take on all kinds of road conditions. They also feature robust underbody protection for impressive performance on unpaved tracks.

Acoustic comfort has also been improved through additional soundproofing material in the engine compartment and controlled road noise.

Dacia, a reliable brand that perfectly meets customer needs
Dacia customers have simple and well-targeted needs. They are looking for generous, simple and reliable vehicles that are smart and affordable. Dacia's is a practical offering that responds perfectly to the expectations of its customers.

Marketing an increasingly wide range of vehicles (Logan, Logan MCV, Sandero Stepway, Duster, Lodgy, Dokker, Dokker Van), Dacia is posting remarkable quality results. In the latest 2012 results of ADAC, the benchmark German organisation, the reliability of Dacia vehicles has improved continuously over the last three years and Sandero is number four in its category. In February, the brand ranked number-one on reliability in a survey carried out with 30,000 customers by consumer organisations in Belgium, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Dacia builds durably reliable cars and is winning the trust of its customers

Dacia vehicles, like Renault ones, are tested in the most extreme conditions. In addition to conventional bench tests, the Renault group puts its vehicles through demanding tests in real-world conditions to confirm their durability. Logan, for example, was tested over 1.9 million kilometres. Dacia cars are designed from the outset to be sold internationally, and notably in emerging markets. They are developed according to demanding specifications given the diversity of road and weather conditions in such countries.

The Dacia models are covered by a 3 year/60,000 miles manufacturer warranty, with service at all dealerships in the network and top-level repair expertise with manufacturer parts. The warranty is targeted at winning new customers, raising awareness of the brand, and building a relationship of trust with customers.

Dacia benefits from the quality expertise of Renault, which has become a leading carmaker on reliability, largely the result of a global group quality policy launched in 2003.

Dacia relies on Renault group and Alliance know-how in standards and processes

New Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway produced at the Pitesti plant in Romania and the SOMACA plant in Casablanca, Morocco for the regional market (including Morocco and Tunisia). Starting in the second-half of 2013, New Sandero will also be produced at the Tangier plant in Morocco.
