An aggressive design and sporty potential: the KTM X-Bow is not merely a milestone in the KTM brand's more than 50-year history, it's also a new citation in the small, but elite segment of radical, lightweight sports cars. This exceptional position is the result of the concept: for their first car, KTM employs the finest materials, high-tech and the know-how of respected development partners such as Audi and Dallara. The result is a street-homologated sports car with racing technology, like an avantgarde, carbon fibre monocoque. Thanks to the basic version's light weight and the 177 kW (240 hp) Audi TFSI engine, the performance values of the KTM X-Bow outstrip those of super-sport cars with more than twice the power: with a deadweight of approx. 700 kilos, the KTM X-Bow accelerates to 100 kph in just 3.9 seconds.

But the KTM X-Bow isn't just a racing machine, even if it is going to accomplish spectacular performance feats on racing circuits. With its modern technologies and exceptional solutions, it's much more oriented towards sporty drivers who seek a purist's driving experience. By foregoing electronic assistants and today's standard comfort features, the X-Bow offers an unfiltered adventure - aided by its standalone wheels in the style of monoposto racing cars, transparent technology and the car's reduced concept, i.e. no roof, doors or windscreen. The sports car has only a 70-millimeter, transparent wind deflector. With all these unique features, driving the KTM X-Bow becomes an experience with an immediacy that otherwise can only be felt when riding a motorcycle.

The Next Step into the Future
For the Upper Austrian motorcycle manufacturer - Europe's second largest - the decision to expand its line of business into the automobile market was of great strategic significance. It was made possible by the company's extraordinarily dynamic growth over the past 15 years. Since 1992, KTM vehicle sales have risen an average of 21% each year, while the volume of sales even climbed to 25% each year. Today, KTM is the world's leading brand in the offroad segment and in recent years has successively expanded its model portfolio into the street sector. "Moving into the automotive sector is the logical continuation of this strategy. With the X-Bow, KTM can now offer the classic KTM driving experience to all those who don't have a motorcycle licence," says Stefan Pierer, CEO of the listed KTM Power Sports AG, explaining this investment in the company's future.

Carbon Fibre Monocoque: Racing Know-How from Dallara
Carbon fibre monocoques have been the Formula 1's safety net for years. On the road, this technology was formerly reserved for the elitist, supersports cars in the highest price classes. KTM would now like to be the first to offer this solution in a much more affordable environment.

KTM has thereby been able to call upon the expertise of its development partner, Dallara. These specialists from Varano (near Parma) in Northern Italy have long been acclaimed as carbon technology experts, from the conception to the production of components made of this light, yet rigid material. The monocoque developed for the KTM X-Bow is not only extremely robust it is also safe, thanks to an integrated crashbox. And yet it weighs only about 70 kilos and is therefore a crucial factor in the vehicle's spectacular performance.

The Engine: TFSI Technology from Audi
KTM was able to gain Audi AG as its partner in developing the drive unit. The four-cylinder TFSI engine represents the X-Bow's construction principles in an ingenious way: by featuring lightweight, high-performance and intelligent technologies.

The engine's outstanding attribute is its gasoline direct injection technology, FSI. In this case, it's combined with an exhaust turbocharger plus an intercooler. Thanks to FSI, the engine can utilize fuel better than one with ordinary intake manifold injection and it even gets by on less fuel in the frequently used partial load range.

The injection takes place at a pressure level between 30 and 110 bar, valves in the intake system direct the inflowing air into a cylindrical movement. A continuously variable intake camshaft ensures optimal cylinder charging at any speed. Two balancer shafts compensate the second order inertia forces and so guarantee superior, low-vibration operation.

The KTM X-Bow's long-stroking, four-valve engine delivers a powerful performance: 310 newton-metres of torque peaks at a level between 2200 and 4000 rpm. The peak performance of 177 kW (240 hp) is achieved at 6000 rpm. Even more powerful engine variations in the 300-horsepower range are planned at a later date.

The drive unit package is complemented by a manual 6-gear transmission, which is also made by VW and can be equipped with a limited-slip differential if so desired. An optional S tronic transmission will also be offered. The drive comes from the rear wheels.

The Chassis: Direct and Competent
The X-Bow's driving dynamics profit not only from the car's low centre of gravity but also from its superior chassis, which also draws on racing technology for its basic principles. Suspended on double triangular wishbone axles, the wheels feature suspension and damping elements by WP Suspension, with a pushrod arrangement up front.

The Italian brake manufacturer Brembo can also be proud of its reputation for excellence. KTM is also expanding this partnership (which began in the motorcycle sector) into the automobile realm. The X-Bow's powerful braking system consists of 305 mm discs at the front and 262 mm discs at the rear. The interaction of the vehicle's light weight, ideal balance, low centre of gravity and a 17-/18-inch tyre mix results in spectacular braking performance: when the brakes are warm, the KTM X-Bow needs only 33.1 metres to decelerate from 100 kph to a standstill.

The Aerodynamics: Exceptional Contact Pressure
The primary development goal for the KTM X-Bow was not attaining extreme final velocities, but in optimising the driving dynamics. The sports car is thereby aided by an ingenious aerodynamics arrangement, the result of many hours in Dallara's wind tunnel. The most vital element in this area is the underbody, which is equipped with a prominent diffusor at the rear. To make this diffusor work even more effectively, the linking points for the rear suspension were set as high as possible. This enables the KTM X-Bow to achieve a phenomenal downforce of about 200 kilograms at a speed of 200 km/h - about three times more than most other supersport cars.

In combination with the high-performance chassis, this fantastic downforce makes extreme curve speeds possible. The transversal acceleration of 1.23 g that can thus be attained noticeably surpasses the usual values achieved by street homologated sports cars.

The aerodynamic concept was a great challenge for the designer as well. It meant that sufficient air had to be channelled into the inlets located in the sides, behind the passengers. The radiator is also located at the rear of the vehicle, to avoid having to install longer, heavier cooling hoses. This mission was accomplished by using special air baffles, which are installed horizontally on the sides of the car so the passengers can also use them as boarding aids.

Safety: Racing Technology
The crucial component protecting the driver and the passenger is the solid, carbon fibre monocoque - safety technology straight from Formula 1. This structure is supplemented by a crashbox in the nose of the vehicle. The silencer, which is built into the rear of the car, was also designed to act as a crashbox; it absorbs the force of an impact to the rear of the vehicle.

The driver and passenger are also protected by four-point safety belts, which were inspired by the racing world. If so desired, this unit can be equipped with a fifth securing point. The two roll bars are clearly visible. They not only appear to be solid, they are skilfully integrated into the monocoque's structure.

Design: Floating Elements
Gerald Kiska's design studio can take credit for the shape of the vehicle. Coming from Salzburg, he has worked closely with KTM for the past 15 years and is entrusted not only with the design of the motorcycles, but also with the appearance of the company itself.

For the concept of the KTM brand's first automobile, Kiska incorporated many characteristics that are more closely associated with motorcycles than cars. Every part fulfils a function, the technology remains transparent, the form is noticeably simple. The few, orange-coloured body panels are "floating elements", like those of motorcycles, and suggest lightness and simplicity.

The deliberate reduction in all things even includes the lights: simple headlamps, embedded indicators flush with the car's contours and round lights at the rear forego superficial, showy effects. Instead, the carbon structure also takes on design duties, meaning that components which are frequently hidden in cars, such as the silencer, suddenly serve an aesthetic purpose in addition to their usual functions.

The Equipment: Puristic and Functional
As a result of its clear concept, the KTM X-Bow can do without a lot of elements that ordinarily add complexity and extra weight. So the narrow wind deflector makes an elaborate heating system and windscreen wipers unnecessary; doors are also not included in the design, due to the vehicle's low profile and the extra-low side profile.

The seats are further examples of the X-Bow's intelligent and simple construction: the shells for the driver's and passenger's seats are already integrated into the carbon fibre construction of the monocoque. An overlay provides solid comfort. In order to provide the best ergonomics for drivers of various heights, the KTM X-Bow has manually adjustable pedals.

The KTM X-Bow doesn't have a luggage compartment. But it does feature an innovative, mobile storage box for the car documents. The equipment required by law, such as the warning triangle, first aid kit and a tyre-fit system, are kept in storage compartments beside the passenger's foot well. A cover is stowed in this same location; it protects the interior of the car when it's parked. Two helmets can be fixed in the passenger's legroom.

At the 2012 Paris Motorshow Automobili Lamborghini is presenting the most successful super sports car of its entire history with a new design - even more aggressive, and more extreme: the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the LP570-4 Edizione Tecnica. The new Gallardo LP560-4 - equipped with permanent four wheel drive- has a new front end and a new rear, while top models in the Gallardo line-up,the LP570-4 Superleggera and the LP570-4 Spyder Performante, will be offered also as the further enhanced Edizione Tecnica. The six models of the Gallardo family are now clearly differentiated and can be customized perfectly to suit every type of driver.

The new Gallardo models will be available at Lamborghini dealerships from November 2012.

The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
The unique design with its razor-sharp lines is one of the key factors in its great success worldwide. Nearly 13,000 units have already left the Sant'Agata Bolognese factory.

The Gallardo design has now been further accentuated in the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. The new front end is characterized by triangular and trapezoidal forms - two shapes that are highly typical of the Lamborghini design language. Divided by diagonal elements in body color and in black, the overall look of the front end is broader and more forceful, giving it an even stronger bond with the road.

To complete the new look larger air intakes have been created ahead of the front wheels and the new 19-inch "Apollo polished" alloy wheels, painted in matt black and featuring precision-machined spokes in polished silver.

Also new is the even more dynamic rear end design on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. The triangle and trapezoid are, of course, the characteristic design elements here, too. The air outlet for the power unit now has now a wider surface area, which improves its thermodynamic efficiency. A new Style Package is available as an option and offers high-gloss black paintwork on the underside of the front spoiler, front and rear grilles and the transverse element of the rear trim to give the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 an even more powerful look.

The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Edizione Tecnica
With a more determined lightweight design, a focus on high performance and a purist look, the LP570-4 Superleggera and the LP570-4 Spyder Performante mark the very pinnacle of the Gallardo family. As Edizione Tecnica, they benefit from a further improved equipment level and an even more individual look. Features of the Edizione Tecnica include the fixed high rear wing, as well as brakes in carbon-ceramic technology. They combine low weight with outstanding fade resistance and durability. The power to weight ratio down to an outstanding 2,35 allows the car to be taken as one of the best references in the segment.

The Edizione Tecnica underscore sits very special look with three new exclusive optional color combinations, whereby the entire roof arch and front air intakes are painted in a contrast color. The available shades are: Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) pillars and front air intakes, Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos pillars and front air intakes, and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes.

Kia revealed the first official photographs of its all-new flagship sedan to be launched during the first half of 2012 in the Korean market. Referred to by its codename "KH" until now, the company also confirmed that the Korean market name will be Kia K9 - while the name for export markets, as well as overseas launch timings, will be revealed later in 2012.

K9 is Kia's first rear-wheel drive sedan. It boasts Kia's "best of the best" design, driving performance and high technology capabilities and is regarded as one of 2012's most eagerly anticipated all-new models in both Korean and overseas markets.

The model's Korean market name, K9, will complete Kia's domestic market "K" series range of passenger cars, whose members also include the front-wheel drive K5 (Optima in overseas markets) and K7 (Cadenza in overseas markets) sedans.

The letter "K" represents not only Kia and the company's home country of Korea, but also refers to the Greek word "Kratos" (meaning powerful, domination and reign) and the English word "Kinetic" (meaning active, dynamic).

The "K" series trio of sedans is a strong statement of Kia's determination to offer consumers the broadest product line-up and establish itself as a major presence in the global automotive industry through ceaseless innovation and technological developments.

The Kia K9's exterior gives solid form to the recently released sketches of the new model, and presents its design concept, "high-tech luxury sedan" image, with futuristic, sophisticated and distinctive charisma.

Kia K9 is the latest continuation of Kia's evolving design DNA, carrying its family-look radiator grille, bold "high-tech luxury car" style LED headlamps, with classic design echoes in its voluminous hood. Viewed from the front, Kia K9 presents an imposing and characterful image.

Furthermore, the sophisticated and bold profile with its simple but strong character line and the innovative and stable rear view with its high-tech LED combination lamps, luxurious chrome garnish and bumper-integrated muffler, completes the parameters for whole new level of luxury car design.

The pinnacle of the Jaguar sporting range - the XKR-S - is now joined by a convertible which offers the same enticing blend of abilities, while offering driver and passenger a heightened connection with their surroundings.

The Jaguar XKR-S Convertible embodies all the characteristics that have always defined legendary Jaguar GTs - explosive performance, involving handling, relaxed comfort and discreet luxury - while taking Jaguar into a new performance echelon. The new XKR-S model line-up sits at the pinnacle of the XK range, which now consists of XK, XKR and XKR-S derivatives in coupe and convertible format.

The Jaguar XKR-S Convertible takes the raft of performance, dynamics, design and interior upgrades already introduced to much acclaim on its coupe sibling to create Jaguar's fastest ever open-topped GT.

Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar Global Brand Director, says the new XKR-S Convertible represents the pinnacle of performance and glamour in motoring: "There is nothing as liberating as life behind the wheel of an open-topped Jaguar and the new XKR-S Convertible takes the Jaguar GT experience to new heights."

The building block for the car's explosive performance is an uprated version of the 5.0-litre supercharged AJ-V8 engine, which produces 550PS (405kW) and 502lb/ft (680Nm) of torque. These figures represent a power increase of 8 percent and torque increase of 9 percent over the Jaguar XKR. Driving the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox with Active Differential, this propels the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible to 60mph in 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

Underpinning this potent performance is a comprehensive package of suspension upgrades which refine the XK's dynamic abilities still further, creating an intimate connection between the car, the driver and the road, enhanced still further in this open-topped GT.

The lightweight aluminium structure of the XK has huge torsional rigidity, allowing the fitment of suspension components such as a redesigned aluminium front steering knuckle and revised rear geometry, stiffer springs and dampers. Allied to lightweight forged wheels and recalibrated steering settings this has allowed Jaguar's vehicle dynamics experts to create a supremely agile, connected driving experience with no loss in refinement.

Reflecting the car's uprated dynamic abilities are interior and exterior styling changes. Externally the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible is dramatically differentiated from other XK models with carefully calibrated aerodynamic aids that allow it to perform flawlessly at very high speeds.

This sense of drama is continued inside the car with Jaguar Performance seats that feature increased support for driver and passenger during high-speed cornering. The seats are finished in carbon leather and feature 16-way adjustment and heating while carbon is also used to trim the cabin and emphasise the car's assertive nature.

Design
Extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics, wind tunnel and track work has resulted in the aerodynamic design changes applied to the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible. These perform an essential function in maintaining stability in an open-topped car capable of speeds as high as 186mph (300km/h).

These aerodynamic design changes give the front of the car a dramatic and bold appearance. Vertical feature lines run down from the edges of the oval air intake into a new bumper design which incorporates a wider, lower air intake, a carbon fibre splitter and twin side nacelles. At the edges of the bumper, vertical panels channel air down the side of the car along new sills, which serve to both smooth the horizontal airflow and emphasise the 10mm reduction in ride height.

A unique rear wing with a carbon fibre inlay works in conjunction with a rear apron featuring a carbon fibre diffuser. The result is a reduction in overall lift of 26 percent and balanced aerodynamics front and rear to keep the car perfectly pinned to the road.

The exterior changes are highlighted by the application of gloss black to the exterior brightwork, complemented by the dark technical finish of the lightweight, forged 20" Vulcan design alloy wheels through which can be seen the Jaguar High Performance Brake calipers finished in either an eye-catching red or discreet gunmetal. The Jaguar XKR-S Convertible is available in a range of six colours, including Polaris White and British Racing Green, a tribute to Jaguar's competition heritage. The acoustically treated hood opens and stows in just 18 seconds and has been proven at the car's maximum speed. It comes in black as standard with a further six optional colours available.

Performance
The engineering integrity of the acclaimed AJ-V8 petrol engine, now in its third generation, meant that Jaguar's engineers could derive the extra power and torque needed for the XKR-S. The advanced design of the quad-cam, all-aluminium AJ-V8 incorporates spray-guided direct injection and variable valve timing for great efficiency as well as prodigious power. The Roots-type twin-vortex supercharger nestling in the 'V' of the engine has twin intercoolers and is 20 percent more thermodynamically efficient than its predecessor.

The result is 550PS and 680Nm, allowing the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible to accelerate from a standstill to 60mph in just 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

Liberating an extra 40PS and 55Nm over and above the XKR entailed remapping the fuelling characteristics and increasing exhaust gas flow though the use of an active exhaust system.

With the roof lowered on the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible the Performance Active exhaust system delivers an authentic, race-car inspired soundtrack that has been tuned to provide the driver with a thoroughly exhilarating driving experience.

Dynamics
With the XK model designed as a convertible from the outset, Jaguar's engineers were able to apply the changes that created the Jaguar XKR-S Coupe into the open-topped GT without compromising performance, agility or refinement.

Jaguar pioneered the use of aluminium in series production cars and it is this metal's low mass and high tensile strength that gives the XKR-S such a breadth of abilities. A kerb weight of 1795kg and torsional rigidity of 16,500
Newton metres per degree provide Jaguar's engineers a solid foundation on which to apply the detail changes that create the company's most involving convertible ever.

Both front and rear suspension systems have been revised. A new aluminium steering knuckle in the front double wishbone suspension increases camber stiffness by 23 percent to provide even greater levels of steering accuracy and feedback. To increase stability and control, the Active Differential has been uprated to reduce steering sensitivity at very high speeds.

Rear damper top mounts have been stiffened over and above the changes found on the XKR-S Coupe while the rear wheel steer effect has been optimised for agility. Spring rates front and rear have been increased by 28 percent while a bespoke Adaptive Damping programme for the XKR-S maximises body control, traction and grip.

Unsprung mass has been reduced by nearly five percent through the fitment of lightweight, forged alloy wheels, which also offer greater traction and grip levels thanks to wider rear tyres that were specifically developed for use on the XKR-S and serve to increase the size of the tyre contact patch. The Jaguar XKR-S convertible rides on Pirelli P-Zero tyres (255/35 ZR20 at the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear).

In order to allow the enthusiastic driver to enjoy the benefits of these changes, the Dynamic Stability Control system has undergone bespoke changes. In Trac DSC mode, specific traction, stability and Active Differential settings reduce intervention levels and enhance mid-corner adjustability, allowing the exhilarating handling to be safely exploited to the full.

The Jaguar High Performance Braking System fitted as standard is more than a match for the car's seductive performance. Huge brake discs - 380mm front and 376mm rear - in combination with aluminium calipers and pad area increases of 44 percent front and 31 percent rear in comparison to the XK provide confidence inspiring levels of power, stability and feel.

Interior
With the convertible hood stowed away, the interior of the XKR-S will be subject to as many envious glances as the exterior, with both highlighting the car's high performance intent.

Exclusive to the XKR-S models are carbon-leather trimmed versions of Jaguar's Performance seats which feature integrated head rests, racing harness cut-outs and increased side and squab support to hold driver and passenger securely during high speed cornering. The 16-way adjustable, heated seats feature highlights of carbon leather and contrast micropiping unique to the model.

Superb tactile interfaces are provided by the multifunction three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and Jaguar-embossed bright stainless steel pedals. Other premium surfaces include soft-feel paint for the switches and a gloss black centre console. An exclusive dark aluminium finish is available as standard with an optional Piano Black finish also available.

The choice for the world's fastest-accelerating hybrid saloon has just got easier. A new Infiniti M35h GT version of the record-breaking Infiniti V6 saloon delivers all the performance and low emissions for which the M35h is known - but at a considerably more attractive starting position. The additional model at £41,101 costs £3,970 less than the Infiniti M35h GT Premium which until now was the sole version available.

The Infiniti M35h GT arrives in Infiniti Centres from July 2012, and in common with every new M the line-up benefits from a highly competitive new price structure as well as several enhancements, including a soft-closing boot function.

The additional entry model ensures Infiniti's "no compromise" hybrid approach reaches as large a market as possible. A recent reduction in CO2 emissions further cuts running costs with both versions of the M35h falling below the important 160g/km tax threshold.

"Cost of ownership is an important consideration in any new car purchase. With the M35h GT grade it now means that the P11D values have been reduced and along with the recently improved CO2 rating there are lower bills for companies and for their drivers," said Infiniti UK Fleet Sales Manager, Simon Lewis.

Previously the navigation system was available only as part of a package with 16-speaker Bose® surround sound. But, in response to customer wishes, a new separate option of Connectiviti+, Infiniti's navigation/entertainment system, has been introduced on GT and S models at a highly competitive £1800 - a price that also includes one of the most sophisticated climate control systems available, Forest Air®.

The option, if taken, will add to the famously generous specification expected from any Infiniti product. On an 'M' these include such items as semi-aniline leather seat facings, heated and ventilated front seats, bi-Xenon headlights with Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS), alloy wheels and White Ash wood trim finished with real silver powder.

As before, M30d S, M30d S Premium and M37 S Premium add a sporting focus with larger alloy wheels, 4-Wheel Active Steering, and sports suspension, brakes and seats, along with black lacquer trim in the cabin.

Now well established in the range, Infiniti's top-selling 'Premium' models are equipped with Infiniti's complete suite of safety and convenience technologies including Blind Spot InterventionTM, Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Prevention (LDP).

The overall quality of the Infiniti M has also been recognised within the American J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. The Infiniti M came top of the Midsize Premium Car segment ahead of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The New Generation i30 wagon will maintain Hyundai's reputation for producing visually-appealing, quality vehicles. The company expects the wagon bodystyle to significantly contribute to market share growth in Europe, with 30% of all New Generation i30 sales expected from the wagon derivative.

The stylish wagon shares engines and running gear with the New Generation i30 five-door, and has a longer body to create a useful increase in trunk space without compromising the model's dynamic styling.

Overall height of the wagon has increased by 30 mm compared to the New Generation i30 five-door, increasing the practical attributes of the car, while optional silver roof rails add further carrying capacity.

Adding to its practicality, the wagon's rear seats fold fully flat, boosting carrying capacity to 1.642-litres. With rear seats up, the New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon features one of the largest cabin capacity of any C-segment model at 528-litres.

Similar to the five-door hatchback, the New Generation i30 wagon was designed and engineered at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany. Developed under the company's global brand slogan, 'New Thinking. New Possibilities.', the New Generation i30 family was developed specifically for the European market.

The New Generation i30 family is produced in Europe at Hyundai's manufacturing facility in Nošovice, Czech Republic. The new model continues the Hyundai tradition of delivering vehicles of the highest quality to European motorists.

New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon offers buyers the same class-leading powertrain line-up as the five-door derivative, with more powerful diesel (128 ps) and gasoline (135 ps) units, and six-speed transmissions for every model, plus CO2emissions starting at 109 g/km - making the i30 range one of the most efficient in the European C-segment.

Worth successor to best-seller
The original i30 range has defied the industry norm in terms of life-cycle sales fluctuations by recording increased annual sales over its first three years in the marketplace. Since launch in 2007, the i30 has recorded over 400.000 European sales, including more than 115.000 units in 2010 - the highest-ever annual sales figure for an individual Hyundai model on sale in Europe - and nearly 100.000 units during 2011 as the overall market declined dramatically.

So great was the success achieved by the original i30 that it climbed to number six in the C-segment sales rankings - securing a 4,8% share of the sector.

Hyundai expects the New Generation i30 family - enhanced by the wagon bodystyle - to restore its growth trend, contributing to future sales success, growing brand awareness and enhancing perceptions of Hyundai among European consumers.

The fortunes of the New Generation i30 family will also be helped by the anticipated market recovery. Motor industry analysts forecast that, despite numerous economic

uncertainties, the mainstream C-segment in Europe will grow by 7% over the next two years - reaching sales of 2,4 million vehicles per year by 2014. Hyundai is planning to sell more than 120.000 units of the New Generation i30 annually, helping to raise the brand's total sales to 500.000 units and challenging established competitors.

STYLING & DESIGN
The wagon was developed alongside its five-door counterpart from the earliest stages, enabling designers to fashion a coherent form that bears a strong family resemblance inspired by Hyundai's fluidic sculpture form language.

Since its introduction on the Hyundai ix-onic concept at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, fluidic sculpture has been the form language for all new Hyundai models launched in Europe.

As with the five-door variant, the front is distinguished by Hyundai's hexagonal-shaped grille and jewel-like headlamps, but from the B-pillar backwards the wagon differs significantly.

The roofline extends rearwards over the flexible passenger / cargo area, sloping to add dynamism to the car's stance in keeping with the fluidic sculpture ethos of a stationary car appearing to be in constant motion.

The overall height of the New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon has been reduced by 20 mm compared to the original i30 wagon, ensuring an athletic profile. The length has increased by 10 mm compared to the original model.

Further enhancing the wagon's dynamic appearance, a pronounced swage line runs horizontally along the sides of the body and rises all the way to the rear lights. The rear windscreen wraps around the C-pillars, increasing interior luminosity and benefiting visibility. The deep tailgate gives the car a clean look and opens to bumper-level for easy loading.

Similar to the hatchback bodystyle, the New Generation i30 wagon benefits from an increased track. The bodyshell is 5 mm wider, and the front and rear tracks have also been increased, moving the wheels and tyres outwards to become flush with the wheel arches - simultaneously heightening the car's aesthetics and improving its road holding.

The profile of New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon is given added finesse by the satin chrome beltline moulding beneath the glass house and by the new five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels featuring chrome inserts.

The visual impact of New Generation i30 wagon on the road is also raised by the inclusion of standard LED daytime running lights flanking the grille and HID headlamps. The new model also bears Hyundai's signature frontal feature - the hexagonal-shaped grille, with a choice of single or twin chrome horizontal trim bars.

New Generation i30 wagon will be manufactured in Europe in a range of 11 exterior colours - two solid, seven metallic and two pearl. Seven popular colours from the previous model are carried over (Steel Gray, Blue Berry, Sleek Silver and Ice Blue metallics, Phantom Black and Cashmere Brown pearls and Creamy White solid).

Four new colours (Aqua Blue, Satin Amber and Hazel Brown metallics, plus solid Cool Red) will ensure an even fresher appearance for Hyundai's latest C-segment challenger. Inside, the New Generation i30 wagon seat and cabin trim is available in a choice of three colours - Black, Beige and Blue - in cloth; cloth and leather; or full leather variations.

FLEET
Since going on sale in 2007, the original i30 has played an important role in expanding Hyundai's sales and reputation in Europe's fleet sector. Hyundai expects the New Generation i30 to be even more popular with fleet managers and company car drivers than its predecessor.

From the sales target of 120.000 units per year, Hyundai forecasts a split 50/50% between the fleet and private sectors.

Hyundai's Five Year Triple Care will continue to be a valuable point of differentiation for New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon in a highly competitive class. The five-year warranty has no mileage limit, roadside assistance is included for five years, and vehicle health checks are performed annually, providing peace of mind for fleet buyers, fleet operators, company car drivers and private motorists.

Compared to the original i30, total cost of ownership for the New Generation i30 wagon model will be reduced, helped by improved fuel efficiency, lower CO2emissions and a lower insurance classification.

COMFORT & CONVENIENCE
The quality and generosity of standard specification on the New Generation i30 wagon have been inspired by the high standards established by Hyundai's All New i40, demonstrating the company's desire to make its technology available to all European motorists.

Available new features that will appeal to New Generation i30 drivers include a Smart Key with engine start/stop button, 10-way powered driver's seat adjustment, heated front seats, an electric parking brake and cruise control with speed limiter function. Enhanced instrumentation with a TFT LCD Supervision cluster (executed to the same high quality as found on i40) provides a wide range of additional information to the driver in high-resolution clarity.

Located atop the centre stack, the optional navigation system is displayed via a 7-inch touch-screen. The system is a highly sophisticated and convenient GPS tool, offering real-time information, multi-media support and speech recognition in 10 European languages.

New features that will enhance the New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon experience for passengers include dual-zone climate control, rear air ventilation ducts for second row occupants, and a panoramic glass sunroof which allows greatly increased natural light to flood the cabin. The sunroof has been designed to open fully or tilt open, offering flexibility and functionality, together with an adjustable full-length shade. Heat-reflecting solar glass is also available as an option for the front, side and rear windows.

Depending on model, New Generation i30 wagon's standard equipment also offers buyers a height-adjustable driver's seat, fully-folding rear seat, RDS radio/CD with MP3, iPod, Aux and USB support, six speaker audio system and a multi-mode trip computer.

ENGINES
Depending on individual market preferences, the New Generation i30 wagon will be available with an expanded choice of six engines - up to three diesel and three gasoline units - with a broader range of power outputs, from 90 to 135 ps.

New, more powerful engines are introduced to top both the diesel and gasoline line-ups delivering 128 ps and 135 ps respectively.

The upgraded diesel engine - the highly-efficient 1,6-litre variable geometry turbo (VGT) 'U-II' unit - will be the most popular powertrain in the line-up. Generating 110 ps at 4.000 rpm and 260 Nm from 1.900 rpm, the upgraded 1582 cc engine will accelerate the New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon from standstill to 100 kph in 11,8 seconds, and go on to reach a top speed of 185 kph - while emitting only 113 g/km of CO2.

The gasoline engines also offer an excellent balance between performance and economy. The New Generation 1,6-litre 'Gamma' GDI engine features technically advanced 'gasoline direct injection' to maximize power and torque generation while minimizing fuel consumption and emissions. This 1.591 cc unit produces 135 ps at 6.300 rpm and 164 Nm of torque at 4.850 rpm. With this engine, i30 accelerates to 100 kph in 10,2 seconds and up to a top speed of 192 kph top speed.

Both diesel and gasoline engine types play a significant role in the European

C-segment, with diesel representing 56% and gasoline 40% of total sales. Overall, Hyundai is expecting a 50:50% split between sales of diesel- and gasoline-powered New Generation i30 wagon models.

The addition of Hyundai technologies developed under the company's Blue Drive™ sub-brand optimizes efficiency and lowers emissions for the New Generation i30 wagon. These technologies, which are available on both diesel and gasoline models with manual transmission, include Integrated Stop & Go (ISG), low-rolling resistance tyres and an alternator management system (AMS).

Six-speed transmissions for every model
Buyers of New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon will be given a choice between manual and automatic six-speed transmissions, depending on model, with both units providing a refined driving experience and enhanced fuel efficiency. The automatic transmission will be an option on all 1,6-litre engines, while the 1,4-litre units will be available exclusively with a manual gearbox.

RUNNING GEAR
As part of its improved dynamics, New Generation i30 wagon offers Hyundai's C-segment car buyers the new option of its innovative FLEX STEER system. This introduces three operating modes - Comfort, Normal and Sport - and allows the driver to vary the level of steering support and feedback in order to best suit the current driving conditions.

The Comfort mode gives greater electrical support, offering a 'lighter' steering wheel and minimal effort to reach full steering lock. The improved maneuverability makes city driving and pulling in and out of a parking space easier than ever.

Normal mode is intended to be used most frequently. Offering the perfect support across all road types, its flexibility offers a relaxed, yet engaging drive.

Finally, Sport mode offers drivers the most direct feedback from the road with reduced electrical support. The steering feels more weighted, offering the most driver-focused experience. The direct control and feedback of Sport mode benefits use on highway routes.

The steering system employs electric power-assistance and requires 2,85 turns lock-to-lock for a 10,6-metre turning circle.

Fully-independent, all round, New Generation i30 wagon's suspension features subframe-mounted MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link set up at the rear - both with optimized geometry to exploit the wider track of the new model for enhanced handling and improved road holding.

REFINEMENT
Occupants of New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon benefit from more spacious interior dimensions compared to the five-door variant, while greater trunk volume offers increased luggage capacity and practicality.

Front seat occupants enjoy headroom of 1.033 mm (+12 mm compared to five-door), legroom of 1.067 mm and 1.420 mm shoulder room. Rear passengers enjoy significantly increased headroom (+38 mm to 1.005 mm) compared to the hatchback and improved access to and across the rear seats by lowering the floor's central tunnel by 59% (from 133 mm to just 54 mm).

Trunk capacity in the wagon bodystyle is increased to 528 litres with rear seats up, an increase of 113 litres compared to the original i30 (27%) and one of the segment-best figures. The trunk extends to 1.642 litres when the seats are folded fully flat (18% increase). New Generation i30 wagon owners can also utilise an underfloor storage compartment, boosting the carrying capacity.

Wheelbase remains the same as the hatchback model, at 2.650 mm.

The dashboard glovebox is enlarged by 48% to 8,0 litres (up from 5,4), bottle storage in the front door trims is doubled in size to 1,5-litres and new 0,75-litre storage pockets are provide in the rear doors, similar to its hatchback sibling.

In terms of cabin refinement and NVH, Hyundai's New Generation i30 wagon engineering team targeted the segment leaders, and was determined to achieve significant improvements over the original model.

Measures adopted to improve NVH included vibration damping engine mounts, fitting hollow drive shafts, stronger bodyshell joints between the sills and B-pillars, double-layer door seals, increased foam-filling in the A-pillars and re-shaped exterior door handles.

SAFETY
Safety is a top priority for Hyundai and the New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon features the latest active and passive safety technologies to ensure maximum protection for its occupants and other road users. Active safety features include ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ABS (anti-lock braking system), BAS (emergency Brake Assist System), HAC (Hill Assist Control) to prevent roll-back and ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) which flashes the brake lights when an emergency stop is detected.

Good visibility is a key factor in safe driving and New Generation i30 wagon features LED daytime running lights to ensure it is seen - plus HID (High-Intensity Discharge) headlamps with AFLS (Adaptive Front Light System) to optimise the driver's night vision. To maximise safety when reversing, a wide angle rear view camera is available, showing a clear view of obstructions behind the car.

Personal security is also enhanced with New Generation i30 wagon by the 'welcome lighting' package which features puddle lamps beneath the door mirrors and illuminated door handles - triggered by the proximity of the Smart Key as the owner approaches the parked car.

In terms of passive safety, the New Generation Hyundai i30 wagon's bodyshell structure employs a high percentage of ultra high tensile steel and features three new cross-members which link to the front or rear suspension mounts for maximized rigidity. The front door anti-intrusion beams have been strengthened, the joint between the B-pillar and roof is enlarged and the inner and outer side sill panels are manufactured in high tensile steel.

Over 400 metallurgists are employed at Hyundai's steel plant in Korea to develop optimised steel recipes for every part and panel in our vehicles. As a result, the New Generation i30 wagon body-in-white has higher quality, higher tensile strength and lower weight than ever before. Hyundai is the only car manufacturer in the world to have its own fully integrated steel mill.

Each New Generation i30 wagon is fitted with six airbags as standard - front, front side and full length curtain - while an innovative driver's knee airbag is optional.

The safety features available on the New Generation i30 wagon reinforce Hyundai's excellent record on safety, and the company anticipates the new car will follow the outgoing model and five other recent Hyundai models, in attaining the maximum 5-Star rating in Euro NCAP's impact assessment programme.

New HID projector headlamps are available as a segment-first technology to deliver improved visibility and increase driver confidence.

HID technology provides exceptional lighting performance while contributing a distinctive look with stylish L-shaped lamps.

Ford F-150 style also is enhanced with new 18- and 20-inch wheels offered in various trim packages.

Segment-exclusive power-telescoping and power-folding trailer-tow sideview mirrors add flexibility and convenience when operating in tight quarters, while enabling class-leading visibility.

Ford F-150 pickups are available in three new hues including Blue Jeans Metallic, Kodiak Brown Metallic and Ruby Red Clearcoat Metallic.

Truck-focused technology
The 2013 Ford F-150 adds Ford's award-winning SYNC® voice-activated communications and entertainment system with 911 Assist® and Vehicle Health Report as standard equipment in XLT series and above. This enables hands-free, voice-activated control of enabled mobile devices.

Buyers may choose from an optional suite of SYNC Services, including Traffic Information, Turn-by-Turn Directions, Business Search, Send to SYNC from Google Maps and MapQuest, News, Sports, Weather and Horoscopes.

Ford F-150 also introduces SYNC paired with a new 4.2-inch LCD center-stack screen that provides enhanced displays of audio and climate-control functions. In addition, the instrument cluster contains a 4.2-inch driver-configurable LCD productivity screen including menus for gauge setup, trip computer, fuel economy and towing/off-road applications.

Lariat, King Ranch®, Platinum and Limited series models are equipped with SYNC with MyFord Touch, adding voice control to more vehicle systems coupled with an all-new, large 8-inch LCD color touch screen mounted in the center stack. This package adds a media hub with two USB ports, an SD card reader and audio/video input jacks.

The Interior design
The 2013 F-150 offers a range of interior updates. BMW takes the development of intelligent hybrid drive systems to the next level with the introduction of the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid - another series-produced model in which a combustion engine and electric motor join forces to enhance both efficiency and the brand's hallmark driving pleasure. The BMW 5 ActiveHybrid brings together a BMW TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder in-line engine, an electric drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox for the first time. The latest generation of BMW ActiveHybrid technology also adds precisely controlled - and therefore extremely effective - energy management to the mix. All of which gives the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid an exceptional balance of performance and fuel economy for the premium executive car class. Its drive system generates combined output of 250 kW/340 hp, allows the car to be driven on electric power alone up to 60 km/h (37 mph), accelerates the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds, limits average fuel consumption to between 6.4 and 7.0 litres per 100 kilometres (44 - 40 mpg imp) and has CO2 emissions of just 149 - 163 grams per kilometre (figures according to EU test cycle, may vary according to the tyre format specified).

The 225 kW/306 hp six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology in the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid is the same unit renowned for its free-revving capability, pulling power and efficiency in the BMW 535i. The electric motor, meanwhile, develops 40 kW/55 hp and is supplied with energy by a high-performance lithium-ion battery integrated into the luggage area.

A harmonious blend of power from the two drive systems is transferred to the rear wheels by the eight-speed automatic gearbox. In addition to its full-hybrid construction, which enables purely electric and therefore emission-free driving in urban conditions, the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid boasts not only the sportiest performance in its market segment but also a double-digit percentage improvement in fuel economy over the BMW 535i.

In order to fully exploit the potential of the BMW ActiveHybrid technology, the intelligent energy management of the power electronics in the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid uses a host of innovative functions to ensure the drive system runs efficiently. The lithium-ion high-performance battery is charged when the car is coasting or braking, the electric motor performing the role of a generator feeding energy into the high-voltage battery. By contrast, under acceleration the electric motor takes on a boost function. Here, it assists the petrol engine by generating an ultra-dynamic burst of power, lending the sedan's sporty driving experience a noticeably sharper edge. Added to which, while coasting at speeds of up to 160 km/h (100 mph) in ECO PRO mode, the combustion engine can be switched off and fully decoupled. This coasting mode combines comfortable driving with optimum utilisation of the kinetic energy already generated. To avoid periods with the engine running at idle - at junctions or in traffic tailbacks, for example - the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid is equipped with a hybrid start-stop function. Plus, the power electronics in the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid are linked up with the standard-fitted navigation system Professional. This allows forward-looking analysis of the driving situation, enabling the drive components to be primed to deliver maximum efficiency (the effect may vary according to the quality of the available navigation data). All the hybrid-specific components of the drive technology and energy management systems have been developed specially for use in the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid. The result is an extremely well-rounded overall concept, which also provides a convincing demonstration of the BMW ActiveHybrid technology's qualities out on the road. Needless to say, all of the new hybrid components are designed to last for the life of the vehicle.

The BMW 5 ActiveHybrid sees the sporty yet elegant body design of the BMW 5-Series Sedan complemented by bespoke touches which highlight the identity of its drive technology. The "ActiveHybrid 5" lettering on the C-pillars, BMW kidney grille with galvanised slats and exhaust matt chrome tailpipes set the exterior apart from the other models in the range. Available as an option, meanwhile, are 18-inch Streamline light-alloy wheels displaying exceptional aerodynamic efficiency. The BMW 5 ActiveHybrid is the only model in the BMW 5-Series line-up to be available in the exterior paint shade Bluewater metallic, and it also stands out visually from all other 5-Series variants with door sill strips bearing "ActiveHybrid 5" lettering, an aluminium plate on the centre console with the same ID, a bespoke engine cover and the visible "ActiveHybrid Power Unit" inscription on the special casing for the high-performance battery accommodated in the luggage area.

The selection of interior colours, upholstery and interior trim elements reflect the range offered for the other BMW 5-Series Sedan variants. And added to the standard-fitted array of comfort-enhancing features is not only the navigation system Professional, but also a 4-zone climate control system with stationary air conditioning. A wide range of driver assistance systems and BMW ConnectedDrive mobility services, as well as virtually all the other optional extras available for the conventionally powered BMW 5-Series Sedan, can also be specified for the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid.

Innovative combination: award-winning six-cylinder in-line engine, newly developed electric drive system.
This is the first time that a six-cylinder in-line engine has been included as part of a BMW ActiveHybrid system. The 3.0-litre petrol unit, which develops 225 kW/306 hp and peak torque of 400 Newton metres (295 lb-ft), represents a passport to increased driving pleasure and efficiency. The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology of the six-cylinder engine, which has already won the international Engine of the Year Award two years in succession, comprises a twin-scroll turbocharger, High Precision Direct Injection and VALVETRONIC variable valve timing.

The synchronous electric motor of the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid is integrated into the housing of the eight-speed automatic gearbox, saving space. The link-up between the electric motor and gearbox is controlled by a clutch and the motor's operating temperature is regulated by the combustion engine's cooling system. The electric drive system develops 40 kW/55 hp and makes 210 Newton metres (155 lb-ft) of torque available from rest. The motor is supplied with energy by a lithium-ion high-performance battery, likewise specially developed for the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid. The high-voltage battery is encased in a special high-strength housing and positioned between the wheel arches in the luggage area, providing it with optimum protection. It consists of 96 cells, has its own cooling system and offers usable energy capacity of 675 Wh. The integration of the lithium-ion high-performance battery into the luggage area reduces the load capacity of the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid to 375 litres, 145 litres lower than that of a BMW 5-Series Sedan variant powered purely by a combustion engine.

The BMW 5 ActiveHybrid has both a conventional 14-volt power supply and a high-voltage supply with an operating voltage of 317 volts. They are linked up by a voltage transformer ensuring that maximum electric energy can be used to enhance driving dynamics and comfort in any operating phase. Like the electric motor, the air conditioning compressor is also fed with power from the lithium-ion high-performance battery exclusively via the high-voltage supply. This ensures a pleasant interior climate, even when the combustion engine is switched off - i.e. when the car is at a standstill, operating purely on electric power or in coasting mode. In addition, the stationary climate control function can be used to cool the interior before the engine is started up.

Intelligently controlled hybrid technology: unprecedented precision for superior efficiency.
Up to a speed of 60 km/h (37 mph), the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid can operate in all-electric mode for zero emissions in town. The lithium-ion high-voltage battery can store sufficient energy to give an all-electric driving range of up to four kilometres (approx. 2.5 miles) at an average speed of 35 km/h (22 mph).

The internal combustion engine is only started when the driver requires more power: it is then engaged automatically. The electric motor provides a "boost" function to supplement the engine when accelerating. Maximum combined power is 250 kW/340 hp, with maximum torque of 450 Newton metres. Under combined ICE/electric power, the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid delivers a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 5.9 seconds.

Hybrid-specific Auto Start-Stop function and coasting mode.
Thanks to the specially designed Hybrid Auto Start-Stop function, there are no compromises on comfort even when the vehicle is stopped in traffic for longer periods - after the internal combustion engine is shut off, the automatic climate control simply runs off the lithium-ion battery. When the driver releases the brake, the vehicle will restart on either the electric motor alone or the electric motor and the petrol engine, depending on the high-voltage battery's current charge level and on how much power the driver wants.

Another innovation being pioneered in the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid further improves efficiency by shutting the internal combustion engine down not only when the vehicle is stationary, or when driving in town, but also on overrun. In the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid, this coasting mode is available at any speed up to 160 km/h (100 mph). Coasting mode switches off the petrol engine and disconnects it from the drive shaft. From this point on, the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid continues moving soundlessly, with zero emissions and with no engine braking effect. The potential efficiency improvements are further enhanced by tyres with reduced rolling resistance. In coasting mode too, as with all-electric mode for urban driving, all safety and comfort functions remain fully operational.

Intelligent energy management with proactive analysis of the driving situation.
The advanced power electronics coordinate the operation of the internal combustion engine and electric motor with precise reference to the driving situation. For even more efficient energy management in the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid, this functionality has been extended to include proactive analysis of the driving situation. To support this, the power electronics are integrated with the standard-fitted Professional navigation system, which means they can access and analyse data indicating an upcoming change in external conditions or driver requirements at a very early stage. Based on this analysis, the vehicle can be prepared in advance for the relevant requirements so that all powertrain systems and the on-board electronics are managed appropriately and in such a way as to make the most efficient possible use of the available energy.

Factors that may cause a change in powertrain operating strategy include the topography of the route and speed limits. For example, if the system knows that a hilly stretch is coming up soon, the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid can invest all the high-voltage battery's electrical energy in providing supplementary driving power, since the battery will be recharged "at no cost" during the subsequent descent. On longer downhill sections the electric motor's generator function, too, can be enlisted to recharge the high-voltage battery with no loss of speed. The operating strategy can also be managed so as to ensure that the high-voltage battery is as fully charged as possible when nearing the end of the journey, thereby increasing the electric driving range on the "last lap".

The operating status of the powertrain components is shown in intuitive, model-specific displays in the instrument cluster and in the Control Display of the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid. As well as the energy flow and energy recuperation display, these include a further gauge next to the rev counter which shows the boost effect being provided by the electric motor during acceleration. A display in the iDrive interface provides a variety of information - for example on the lithium-ion high-voltage battery's current charge level and the power-sharing between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor in the course of a journey.

Exceptional hybrid model, typical BMW 5-Series: highest standards of driving dynamics, safety and comfort.
The chassis specifications of the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid include a double-wishbone front axle and integral rear axle, electromechanical power steering including the Servotronic speed-sensitive power assist function, a high-performance brake system and 17-inch alloy wheels. Dynamic Damper Control, featuring electronically controlled damping, is optionally available. The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, which stabilises the vehicle by applying braking pressure and reducing engine power, also incorporates functions such as Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Brake Assist, Fading Compensation, a Dry Braking function and Start-Off Assistant.

The hybrid-specific safety features, which protect the lithium-ion high-voltage battery and the power electronics, are integrated in the BMW 5-Series' elaborate integrated active and passive safety concept. In a collision, high-strength structural components and large deformation zones help to keep impact forces away from the passenger cell and also from the hybrid drive components. Other standard safety systems on the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid include front and side airbags, side curtain head airbags for both rows of seats, three-point inertia-reel belts on all seats, belt force limiters and belt latch tensioners on the front seats and ISOFIX child seat attachments in the rear.

In the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid, too, the standard-fitted Driving Experience Control switch offers not only Sport+, Sport and Comfort set-ups (as well as Comfort+ mode if the optional Dynamic Damper Control is specified), but also ECO PRO mode. The latter supports a particularly relaxed and fuel-efficient driving style, and makes more frequent use of all-electric mode. As an alternative to the standard-fitted automatic transmission, a sports automatic with faster shift times is optionally available.

BMW ConnectedDrive systems optionally available for the BMW 5 ActiveHybrid include Park Distance Control, a rear-view camera, Surround View, Adaptive Headlights, High-Beam Assistant, Speed Limit Info, BMW Parking Assistant, Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition and the BMW Head-Up Display. Innovative technologies also allow in-car integration of the Apple iPhone, other smartphones and music players, and use of the Real-Time Traffic Information and Apps functions.

To further enhance comfort and individuality, the standard-specification 4-zone automatic climate control and navigation system Professional can be supplemented by options such as active seats, active seat ventilation, Comfort Access, the Smart Opener for the tailgate, the Soft Close Automatic function for the doors, a power-operated glass roof and high-end audio and rear entertainment systems.
